Sarah Anupi Kutahi is Communications Intern with CREST. She is an environmental scientist, a birder, and a creative writer. She is also a natural hair consultant who aspires to run a hair salon that is eco-friendly in the near future.
She recently acquired a Postgraduate Diploma in Mass Communication following her discovery of writing as an avenue of educating masses on critical environmental issues. Before which she had been blogging on matters climate change, conservation among other topics in an upbeat relatable manner.
She was introduced to travel and conservation when she volunteered as an Environmental Education Officer at the Giraffe Centre in Nairobi where she Interacted with tourists from all corners of the world. While here she was also introduced to work with children on Education for Sustainable Development which integrates children into conservation. She later joined Kenya Wildlife Service at the Mombasa Marine Park for more conservation work. Then Global Vision International offered her a scholarship to carry out research on terrestrial and marine habitats and their biodiversity.
Apart from her rich exposure in conservation she has had a fair share in the responsible tourism field. She has worked with Ecotourism Kenya, an accommodation facility in the famous Masai Mara Ecosystem, a travel company and now she has opted to join CREST to garner skills as a communications intern. She hopes to become an equipped communications person after the internship and to communicate and influence others to adopt sustainable use of resources.
