Salomé is a Program and Research Intern at CREST. In June 2021 she will graduate from Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada with a Bachelor of Commerce in Hospitality and Tourism Management and minor in Caribbean Studies. She has taken a special interest in Caribbean tourism and tourism that benefits local communities after having grown up in countries across Europe and the Caribbean, namely Jamaica and Barbados. In her time living in Barbados, Salomé had the opportunity to work as an intern at a boutique hotel located on the beautiful west coast, gaining first-hand experience in luxury hotel operations.

Throughout her undergraduate studies in Toronto, Salomé was involved on and around campus, most notably working for the recruitment office interacting with prospective international students and supporting various engagement strategies. This, along with her multicultural experience, is where Salomé developed strong interpersonal and critical-thinking skills. With her main areas of interest being in sustainable tourism and destination management, in the Fall of 2021 she will be starting her studies for an MBA in Sustainable Tourism Management, furthering her knowledge in the responsible tourism field.
