Kelsey Wermager

Kelsey joined the CREST team in April of 2023 as a Project Coordinator. Prior to her employment at CREST, Kelsey spent a decade working as a registered nurse in cardiac surgery, both intra-operatively and post-operatively in the intensive care unit. In addition to her work as a nurse and project coordinator, Kelsey is a writer and dancer. She has danced with Chicago’s Joffrey Ballet, was awarded a fellowship for her creative writing in 2021 at Chulitna Lodge in remote Alaska, and has since served as a juror for future fellowships. 

In December of 2020, Kelsey and her partner bought a 5 acre homestead in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula where they are working toward living closer to the land and community. Kelsey’s passion for the outdoors, the vast wilderness of the Upper Peninsula, sustainable living and community engagement inspires her work both personally and professionally.
