Jim is Managing Principal of Pacific Analytics Inc., a firm of consulting economists based in Victoria, British Columbia.  Prior to entering the consulting field, Mr. Johnson worked at the BC Ministry of Finance (BC STATS) for nine years where he was responsible for both the development of the provincial GDP Accounts and for the development and operation of the BC Econometric Budget Forecasting Model.  As well, he undertook a large number of economic impact studies using the BC Input-Output model and taught first-year statistics at the University of Victoria. A consultant since 1990, Jim works primarily on data intensive projects, focusing on the development of impact models (econometric, input-output, and financial models) and in developing regional impact assessments using a proprietary regional input-output model of BC developed in conjunction with the BC Ministry of Transportation and Destination BC. Jim has a M.A. (Resource Economics and Econometrics) from UBC and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation focusing on corporate financial valuation and evaluation.
