In 2020, we picked ourselves up by the bootstraps as we weathered the global pandemic. Our programs and research supported destinations in more than 27 countries, and we dedicated ourselves to a collaborative, not competitive, approach. We championed a science-based approach to a responsible recovery and advocated for true sustainability, which must be holistic and focus on the natural, cultural, and spiritual elements of place. These are more than words for us. They represent our organizational values, vision, and purpose.
In 2019, our programs and research helped support destination communities and protect natural environments and cultural resources in more than 16 countries.
